November past....

Wow, once again I have neglected to post. A lot has happened since my birthday. I was figuring that I would have a surprise party....David threatened me when I gave his two years ago. Just when I was really thinking it wasn't going to happen, the saturday after Thanksgiving David and Tricia got me. What got me even more was that my brother, sister-in-law and nephew were there!!! I had a wonderful time and was delighted to see everyone there to celebrate my birthday, it truly meant so much to me!

That following Monday, Danielle totalled her car. She was okay thank God! So was the other person and people in their vehicle. They were able to drive their van away, not so lucky for Danielle though. She has bought a replacement car on her own "Bertha" which is something you would see on MTV's pimp my ride (pathetic cars to be restored). It is a humbling experience I hope.

This past week I've been sick, however, I received a call from my long lost little brother Christopher. I was so happy to hear from him finally. I lost contact with him and was praying that he would eventally call me. I have his number now and I am hoping he takes me up on our Christmas dinner invite.

That quickly brings you up to the present. I am done my winter semester at school (aced it) and should have more time. There is other things going on but will have to wait to post about those....more to come!

Oops! I forgot October...

Well it is now November and I did not post at all in October. I have been very busy at work and really haven't spent much time on line. I will give a brief summary of my October:

1. Went to the Reinassance Faire with David, Sarah and Brian. Had a wonderful time and look forward to going next year.

2. Made homemade applesauce for the first time with the help of my friend Cindy. I plan on making that a yearly thing too!

3. Went on the ladies retreat from Church themed "Chocolate Boutique". Also had a wonderful time and look forward to next year. (I even got to kayak that weekend too, which I love to do!).

4. Trading in my PT Cruiser (no I am not sick) and bought a Jeep Wrangler. I now drive the pickup truck and David drives the jeep.

5. October 31 this year was 25 years since David asked me out!

6. We went to a friends house on halloween and had a fire and handed out candy, hot cocoa which was quite fun.

Now it is two weeks exactly to my 40th birthday...not looking forward to that :(

Catch up time....

Wow, now it is the end of September! School is going great, I'm taking my phys-ed requirement, I picked Weight training and management on Mondays and Wednesday and I absolutely love it! I'm learning alot and hope that I will benefit from this experience and lose some weight and tone my body in the process. On September 20th Sarah's Middle School Color Guard and Band performed at the Phillies game. David and I went down to see Sarah perform, which was very cool! Then last Sunday Tricia and I went to the Dover race. The weather report was very nasty, but God must be a Nascar fan because the storms held off until exactly when the race was over. We were prepared with rain gear though. Still sat in traffic forever and 5 hours later got home. I spoke to a guy at work that goes every year and he has a back way in and out that we are going to try next year, cause sitting trapped in traffic is just crazy! Until next time...

September already????

I can't believe it is September. I can't believe summer is over?! Where does the time go? I can't believe I haven't posted in over a month. Didn't have a very good season with my vegetable garden. I hope next year will be better. Not looking forward to the colder weather, but I do look forward to the bird watching in the winter and having fires in our woodstove. Danielle just started her senior year and Sarah's is in 8th grade. I am very busy at work and just started back at college. Just had a family weekend greataway labor weekend. Camping in the rain with two teenagers, you can just imagine. We made the best of it though. Hopefully this coming year since I will have some vacation time, we will be able to go somewhere on vacation. David and I went to Bristol Tennessee the end of August for a Nascar race. I must be getting old or something (turning 40 this fall) but the drive killed me. I just don't enjoy driving long distances. Tricia and I will be going to the Dover race in a couple of weeks, that I can handle (except for the massive traffic) Until next time.....I will try to post more often :)

Dragonflies...

Lately we have had several dragonflies hanging out around our house. They love to sit on top of the antennas on our car & truck. I happen to think they are beautiful. I got a couple of close ups of them and they didn't seem to mind at all!

God's sign....okay God...I got it!!!

If anyone knows me, I don't relax. I've been getting better at it, but still have issues... Yesterday I hurt my hip and have been in a great deal of pain. When I came home from work today, I wanted to check my vegetable garden and started to weed. Then I realized that the pain was reminding me that I shouldn't be doing this I came in took some Advil and put heat on it. Then I had to run Sarah to the mall and when I came back I got the idea to do (just a little) transplanting. I had walked by David and he reminded me that I was in pain and should be relaxing and I said I will only be "a minute". Needless to say I was out there more than that but God sent me a sign for me to stop. I hit a bees nest while transplanting and got stung on the butt! Okay God I hear you.....after yelling for David and getting first aid for my sting I was still relentless and said I was going to go clean up outside. Which David reminded me sternly to relax and I did :) Will I ever learn?

A sad goodbye...

We had to find little shady a new home. It was a heartbreak, but things were definitely not working out as planned. I found a wonderful home for him in Phoenixville. Sarah and I took him last night. We met the whole family and were invited in to see where Shady would be living. Dee and her family were so excited to adopt Shady as they had to put down their cat of 17 years just the day before. She wants us to keep in contact and visit whenever we want. We will miss you sweetie!

Annapolis July 06

Last weekend Sarah and I spent the weekend at my brother Tim's house in Annapolis. David went to workcamp in West Virginia and Danielle stayed with her Aunt Nanci. We had alot of fun with Tim, Fran and Jesse. I love going down there....it is such a beautiful area. I spent alot of time kayaking on the bay. Sarah and Jesse where on the beach. Sarah got really sunburnt on Saturday. Our time down there was short, I hope to get back there soon. I love the time I spend with my family, even though it is only little...and yes I relaxed!

Yesterday.....

Sunday we finally got to go minature golfing! It is something I really wanted to do with the family (I don't know how excited everyone else was...) The four of us went to Freddy Hill Farms and played then had ice cream. I want to spend more time as a family because with older teenagers it seems like that happens less and less. Where has the time gone?

Bicycling, Picinicing, Kayaking...oh my!

Saturday was a very nice day... David, Sarah and I went to Peace Valley Park. We started the day riding our bikes around the lake. I believe it was about 6 miles? Sarah was a little worn out but enjoyed herself. Then we had a picinic lunch by the lake. After that we rented kayaks (my favorite!) and kayaked around the lake for about an hour. Then we came home and we all went out to dinner (Danielle too!) to Texas Roadhouse. All in all is was a fun filled day :)

It is the little things in life...

Yesterday I happened to look out my window and I saw a bird I have never seen before. I am somewhat of an avid birdwatcher. I have a journal I keep (at times) and enjoy very much seeing different types of birds in my yard. I quick ran and got my book and found out it was a Northern Flicker which is a type of woodpecker. I was so excited! I added him to my journal and hope he returns again. The one thing I would love to see in my yard is a hummingbird.....I'll keep you posted!!!

Praise!

David found out today that he got the job as Department Head for the Pro Desk at Home Depot. After the many years he has put into the company, this is a long awaited, well deserved promotion! Praise God :)
.....yes two posts in one day after none for a while....I'm on a roll!

Let me tell you about my puppy...

I have a dog named Rupert, he will be 2 years old this August.
He whines more than my daughter, mine you he is part pit bull...
He is scared of our one cat Phoebe, yes he is part pit bull....
He needs to be muzzled, held down by four people just to clip his nails,
Rupert is not your typical "pit bull" as people think! He is the sweetest loveable whimpest dog you will ever meet! And he LOVES his mommy too!

The first accident....

Danielle had her first accident last night coming home from work. She is okay, just a small abrasion on her forehead. She had rear-ended someone. Her car is fine, the other car with minor damage. I thank God it was not serious!

Mission Accomplished!

I decided with the rise in gas prices to ride my bicycle to work! It is almost three miles so I thought it would be alright. It took me 20 minutes this morning and I felt great when I got there. I had to wear Sarah's helmet, so tonight we went out and I got one of my own (that fits properly) I enjoyed doing this and I think I will be doing it more often. Saving money on gas and exercising at the same time....great concept :)

PRAISE for Promotion

I was officially promoted yesterday. I knew that it would be happening for a month now, but it wasn't made official then. I have been with the company only three months and I really believed I would be able to do the job. My supervisor felt the same way and has blessed me with this opportunity. I praise God for this promotion!

Memories from the past....

Last night went to the Phantoms game with a group of friends from Church. I used to be a die hard Flyers fan and I have been to a Phantoms game before. I grew up with hockey, that is all my dad watched, most of my relatives are Canadians, both my brothers played plus my cousin. It was a part of my life. When my father passed away 10 years ago, I lost interest in the game. But last night for some reason just brought back all the memories and the joy I had for hockey. My daughter Sarah was sitting next to me and I was explaining every detail of how the game was played. I had a lot of fun and think that I saw re-kindle my liking to hockey again eh! Afterwards there was a concert with Santus Real, a christian group as it was Faith and Family Night at the Phantoms. It was good, but I will have to say I really enjoyed watching a hockey game again.....

V-Day Surprise

My honey surprised me this Valentine's Day. We normally don't exchange gifts as our love is a gift (gag me with a spoon, LOL) Anyway, he came home with a gift bag which had a cute stuffed pig that had a heart with the saying Hogs and Kisses (since I work at Hatfield Meats, and a tea cup warmer for my work and the kind of tea I like at Starbucks. It brought tears to my eyes. I love David so much! Sometimes I think I don't deserve him but I thank God that he is in my life....

5 Weird Habits

I need to keep up with Tricia....so here we go. My 5 weird habits are as follows:

1. I sleep with a teddy bear (no not my husband)
2. Syrup cannot touch my breakfast meat (but I love maple flavored sausage)
3. My hysterical laugh (only few have witnessed)
4. The fact I need to pick the opposite of everyone else (ex. Seahawks...)
5. May not be a habit, but the fact that after the many years of my daughter being a cheerleader and countless times people try to explain the game of football. I just don't get it....nor do I want to!

There, now this is done! Whewwww......Next is the timeline....but I need time :)

Where has January gone?

My last post was New Year's Day and now it is almost the end of January. I feel like January was a blur. On January 2nd, my Sarah's 13th birthday, I took David to the ER for severe pain in his left side (where his colon surgery was) Long story short, it was his appendix. He spent 5 days in ICU and another 5 days in the telemetry unit (heart) He was a very sick man. Throughout this whole ordeal, I always found something I could praise God for in this situation. I am so thankful I had my bestest friend Tricia with me and helping me during this time. I don't know what I would have done without her. He is home and back to work and still getting back to 100%. Myself, after he came home I got a cold and have felt like crap up to and including today. Still don't feel 100%....and it is almost the end of January. Wow time can fly even if you are not having fun!

Happy New Year!

On New Year's Eve our Church's teen group got together for a game night. I was not looking forward to it, but it turns out I had a lot of fun, plus I spent the night with my bestest friend too! Danielle wasn't there, I wish she was, but she worked and slept over her friends house. This was my second sober New Year's Eve...Praises! Welcome to a New Year. My baby will be a teenager tomorrow :) And starting January 3rd, I joined the gym at work....so I will start getting fit!
